Guess the Title! Book Giveaway!

LSR Title GiveawayWaves of Freedom, Book 2 has an official title from Revell, my publisher…but I’m not telling! Instead, just for fun, I’m letting you guess. And I’m giving away a book – either Through Waters Deep (Waves of Freedom, Book 1) when it comes out in August 2015 – or Mystery Book 2 when it comes out in summer 2016.

Here are the rules of the game:

Leave a comment below with your guess for the book title. If you can’t leave a comment, send me an email with your guess. Contest ends Monday, June 1 at 11 pm, Pacific Time. I’ll post the winner Tuesday June 2 – and announce the title.

Guess the correct title and you could win a free book! If more than one person guesses the correct title, I’ll randomly draw up to three winners from those who guessed correctly. If no one guesses correctly, I’ll randomly pick one winner from among all entrants.

Here are your clues:

The title contains the word ANCHOR.

Here are some pictures that inspired me as I wrote the story (which may or may not have anything to do with the title…)

And here’s the story blurb to inspire your guess…

Let the Seas Roar collageFor plucky Lillian Avery, America’s entry into World War II means a chance to prove herself as a pharmacist in Boston. She loves the wartime challenges of her new job but spurns the attention of society boy Ensign Archer Vandenberg, even if Arch is her brother’s best friend. During the darkest days of the war, Arch’s destroyer hunts German U-boats in vain as the submarines sink dozens of merchant ships along the US East Coast. Still shaken by battles at sea, Arch notices his men also struggle with their nerves—and with drowsiness. Could there be a link to the prescriptions Lillian has received for unusually large quantities of sedatives? As Lillian and Arch work together to uncover a black market drug ring, Arch tries to earn Lillian’s trust and her affection. But can they overcome the dangers that face them from torpedoes, drug lords—and opened hearts?

I would love it to be something like “My Anchor Holds Within the Veil” but that title is too long, I think.

    Something along the lines of…

    An Anchor in Time?

I figure your publisher will want to keep the water theme? Maybe that’s the carryover with “anchor, but another guess might be

    “Anchored Deep”

  12. Amy Drown

Gosh, this is tough! But I’ll throw my hat in the ring and guess “SAFE ANCHOR.” 😀 Of course, it could just be called “Sarah’s Next Book,” and I’ll be first in line to read it!

  13. Lexi

Hmm… This is tough, but I’m going to guess that it is “Anchored by Love”.

So many great guesses already. Here are mine:

    Anchor in the Storm
    Love’s Anchor
    Anchored by Love
    Her Steadfast Anchor

  27. Betty Ann White

    Anchor of Hope

[I realize that others have posted it first, but I came up with it before I read through the comments.]

Hebrews 6:19 “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil”

My hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

    Refrain

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
    All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

  28. Betty Ann White

I still like Anchor of Hope best (which matches the series title), but here are my attempts to match Book 1, still based on Hebrews 6:19):

    An Anchor Firm
    An Anchor Secure
    An Anchor Steadfast
    An Anchor Sure
    An Anchor Strong
    An Anchor Safe
(I tried starting with a preposition, but because Anchor, God, is singular, it needed an article. And, rhythmically, I wanted to stick with three words. When you reveal your title, it would be interesting to hear YOUR process!)

And I just have to share this translation I found. Sounds like a catchy book title to me, but maybe for Bodie Thoene!

“This tikvah we have as an ogen (anchor) for the neshamah, a tikvah both firm and secure, which enters inside the parokhet,” Yehudim in Moshiach 6:19 (OJB)

  29. Penny Childers

    Anchor Through The Storm

    Anchor Holds True

    Anchor of Justice

  30. Gerri Wetta Hilger

Congratulations on the new book. Looks awesome! My guesses—Anchored in Peace
    An Enduring Anchor
    An Anchor Acquired
