80 Years Ago—Dec. 29, 1943: Lt.-Gen. Sir Oliver Leese replaces Gen. Bernard Montgomery over British Eighth Army in Italy; Montgomery will lead Allied ground forces (21 Army Group) for Operation Overlord (D-day).
