Book Beat – Death at Thorburn Hall by Julianna Deering

Death at Thorburn Hall, by Julianna Deering
Drew and Madeline Farthering are back, and boy, am I glad! In 1935, the newlywed sleuths visit a distant relative in Scotland for a relaxing vacation at the British Open. But soon their host, Lord Rainsby, is killed in a riding accident. No one suspects foul play…except Drew Farthering. A bevy of suspects arises – complicated family dynamics, a Russian count with sticky fingers, a suspicious business associate…and some who seem a bit too enamored by the new Nazi leader in Germany.
Once again, Julianna Deering brings us the delightful team of Drew and Madeline Farthering and their friends Nick and Carrie. Death at Thorburn Hall provides witty banter, a brooding Scottish setting, characters with layers of secrets, and a mystery that keeps you guessing to the end. I heartily recommend this book. While it isn’t vital to read the series in order, you won’t want to miss the other books in this series!
Oh, thank you so much for the lovely review. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😀
