In 1962, Dusty Fairchild wants to go to college and study geology, but her oil tycoon father sends her to Miss Fontaine’s Finishing School to learn to become a proper Southern lady. At least her cousin and best friend, Paisley, comes with her. But Dusty and her love of rocks and Paisley with her unconventional bohemian upbringing shake things up at Miss Fontaine’s. Secrets are discovered, friendships are formed…and loyalties are tested.
Carla Stewart is one of my favorite authors with her lyrical writing and fascinating characters. Sweet Dreams is no exception. Texas in the 1960s comes to life, and I was drawn into the lives of the young ladies at Miss Fontaine’s with their dreams and secrets and hurts. As with all of Carla Stewart’s books, I want to savor each sentence slowly – and yet I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Sweet Dreams is not to be missed!
