80 Years Ago—June 17, 1943: Light carrier USS Monterey is commissioned at Camden, NJ; the crew includes future president Lt. Gerald Ford.

    Perry Como had the smoothest voice to relax by. I would say that listening to him made a person feel comfortable in body and mind. He became quite popular–had his own TV show, 1948-1967.
    He was married to one woman for 65 years. A family man of high morals.
