  1. Our family owes a lot to Civil Air Patrol. Our son joined when he was 12 years old. He stayed in until age 18. They taught him how to march, salute, take care of his body and learn much about the military. He did well and was eventually squadron commander of 30+ cadets. They also encouraged him to think of applying to the US Air Force Academy. He did so and was accepted. Today, he is an officer in the Air Force, all due to some dedicated people who we can’t thank enough — but have tried to do over the years!
